With 86 years of tradition, the Kamnik Swimming Club (Plavalni klub Kamnik) is one of the oldest swimming clubs in Slovenia. This year we will be hosting the 18th International Swimming meeting, VERONIKA 2019, one of the largest swimming competitions in Slovenia. Last year there were 355 participants from 22 clubs.
The best slovenian swimmers participate in the event because it gives them the opportunity to improve their form prior to national championships.
The competition will begin at 9:00 AM, with direct finals in the 100 m disciplines (and qualifiers in the 50 m disciplines) for all competitors. The afternoon session will begin at 3:00 PM, with grand finals in the 50 m disciplines (breast, free, back, fly), where best swimmers will compete for top spots. The competition will be spiced up with enthralling relay ''Relay Mixed Mixing''.
Visitors will have the chance to see Kamnik’s Veronika from Mali grad (Small castle); half woman, half snake, who will step out of Kamnik’s coat of arms especially for this event.
We invite you to become part of this event, which will take place at the Summer Olympic swimming pool “Pod skalco” in Kamnik on Saturday 29th June 2019, at 9.00 AM. We are confident you will have an exciting and unforgettable day, with many great swimming performances to watch. Food will be provided. And if you’re feeling lucky, there will also be a raffle!
